When you call, our team will assess the situation and provide guidance on what to do next. Please listen carefully and follow the prompts so we can assist you as quickly as possible.

After-hours emergency care will incur a surcharge or call-out fee. Our on-call team will advise you of any applicable costs.

When Is It an Emergency?

It can sometimes be difficult to know whether your pet's condition requires emergency care. If you're concerned about your pet or are unsure what to do, it's always safest to call us for advice.

Some common veterinary emergencies include:

• Difficulty breathing or choking
• Collapse, unconsciousness or seizures
• Severe bleeding or major trauma, such as being hit by a car
• Suspected poisoning or ingestion of a toxic substance
• Snake bites or severe insect stings
• Persistent vomiting or diarrhoea, particularly with lethargy
• Difficulty urinating or being unable to pass urine
• Heatstroke or extreme overheating
• Severe pain or sudden inability to walk
• Eye injuries or sudden swelling

Some emergencies can become serious very quickly, so prompt veterinary attention is important. Don't wait for your pet's condition to improve if you are concerned.
