At Bronson Vet, we perform a wide range of routine and general surgical procedures for dogs, cats and other small animals. Whether your pet is having a desexing procedure, lump removal, wound repair or another surgery, we provide careful monitoring, modern anaesthesia and personalised care throughout their procedure and recovery.

Our team will explain the surgery, answer any questions and provide clear instructions before and after your pet's procedure.

Before Surgery

We'll provide fasting instructions when your pet's surgery is booked. In most cases, pets should not have food after 9:00pm the night before surgery, but they can continue to have access to fresh water unless we've advised otherwise.

Please let us know if your pet is taking any medications or has any recent changes in their health before surgery.

The Day of Surgery

Most surgical admissions take place in the morning. During your admission appointment, we'll discuss the procedure, complete consent forms and answer any last-minute questions before your pet is admitted.

Most surgeries are day procedures, and we'll contact you when your pet is ready to go home.

After Surgery

We'll send your pet home with personalised aftercare instructions based on their procedure. This may include advice on:

• Rest and activity restriction during recovery.
• Caring for the surgical site.
• Pain relief and other medications.
• Eating and drinking after surgery.
• Follow-up or recheck appointments.
