Dog & Cat Vaccinations
Pet Vaccinations
Vaccination is an important part of keeping your pet protected against serious infectious diseases. At Bronson Vet, we provide vaccinations for dogs and cats and tailor recommendations to each pet based on their age, health, lifestyle and individual risk.
Vaccinations aren't only important for pets who spend time outdoors. Indoor pets can still be exposed to infectious diseases through contact with other animals, people, shared environments and contaminated surfaces. Keeping your pet's vaccinations up to date helps provide protection wherever they spend their time.
Understanding Dog and Cat Vaccines
You may hear our team refer to vaccinations as C3, C4, C5, F3 or F5. These names describe the number and type of diseases the vaccination helps protect against.

Dog Vaccinations
C3
The core vaccination for dogs, protecting against:
- Canine parvovirus
- Canine distemper
- Canine adenovirus
C4
Includes the C3 vaccination, with additional protection against:
- Canine parainfluenza
- Bordetella bronchiseptica
These additional components help protect against infectious respiratory disease, including kennel cough.
C5
Includes the protection provided by C4, with an additional respiratory disease component. C5 is commonly recommended for dogs that regularly mix with other dogs, such as those attending boarding, daycare, training or dog parks.
Cat Vaccinations
F3
The core vaccination for cats, protecting against:
- Feline panleukopenia
- Feline herpesvirus
- Feline calicivirus
These viruses can cause serious illness and respiratory disease in cats.
F5
Includes the F3 vaccination, with additional protection against feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) and other components depending on the vaccine used. F5 may be recommended for cats with an increased risk of exposure to FeLV, including cats that spend time outdoors or have contact with other cats.
Which Vaccination Does My Pet Need?
Not every pet needs the same vaccination. We consider your pet's age, health, lifestyle and exposure to other animals when recommending their vaccination protocol.
Even indoor pets can be exposed to infectious diseases, so vaccination is not only important for pets who spend time outdoors.
Our team will discuss the options with you and recommend the vaccination schedule that provides appropriate protection for your pet.
